Day 61: Hillerød

After sleeping off my long bus ride, I woke up and had a traditional Danish delicacy (the Danish version of Nutella) for breakfast.

Then headed to Sophie's school where I got to experience a day in a Danish high school. A lot more relaxed and more open than schools in Sydney. I tagged along to two of Sophie's classes (natural science and English) then afterwards, she showed me around Hillerød.

The amazing Hillerød castle.

Afterwards, we drove to the nearby Frederiksburg castle where Princess Mary (the Australian girl who married a Danish prince), Prince Frederick and their children spend their summers.

The beautiful lake where they sometimes take their boat.

The path leading to their castle.

Equipped with a sculture garden..

And their beautiful, fairytale castle.

The grounds were beautiful and the great weather wasn't too bad either!

The castle from the front gate.
